Blood Sample Scam: Pune Porsche Crash Takes a Twisted Turn

Two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Harnor, have been arrested for allegedly tampering with the blood reports of a minor involved in a fatal Porsche crash. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that the doctors were taken into custody for manipulating evidence in the case. The crime branch is currently investigating the incident.

The arrest follows the suspension of an inspector and another official from the Yerwada police station for delayed reporting and failure to conduct a timely medical examination of the teenager, who allegedly drove the Porsche Taycan that killed two young IT professionals on May 19. The police claim the teenager was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Initially granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board and asked to write an essay on road accidents, the teenager was later sent to an observation home after public outcry and a police review.

The Pune Police have also arrested the teenager’s father, Vishal Agarwal, and grandfather, Surendra Agarwal. They are accused of pressuring their driver to take the blame for the accident by offering money and making threats. Surendra Agarwal was charged with illegal confinement of the driver, while Vishal Agarwal, already in judicial custody for another case related to the crash, was named in the FIR for his role in the conspiracy.

Defense lawyer Prashant Patil argued that the driver voluntarily stayed at the Agarwal residence and denied any wrongful confinement. Despite these claims, the police have corroborated facts leading to charges against the juvenile’s father and grandfather. The case continues to unfold as the authorities seek further custody and clarification on the involvement of all parties.
