Following a tragic accident in Pune involving a 17.5-year-old driving his father’s Porsche Taycan, resulting in the instant deaths of two motorcyclists, reports reveal that the pubs where the underage driver consumed alcohol prior to the incident have been sealed. Pune District Collector’s orders led to the Excise Department sealing Cosie Bar and Black Bar, accused of serving liquor to the minor involved.
The teenager, identified as Vedant Agarwal, had reportedly spent Rs 48,000 at the two pubs celebrating his 12th class results with friends. CCTV footage confirmed his consumption of alcohol, although blood test results are pending. Authorities have arrested the owners of the pubs for permitting underage drinking and invoked Section 185 (drinking and driving) against Vedant Agarwal.
The accident occurred on a narrow Pune road involving an illegally driven Porsche Taycan belonging to Vishal Agarwal, the accused’s father. Despite attempts to register the vehicle, an unpaid fee rendered it unregistered. The juvenile driver faced charges under various sections of the IPC and was granted bail within 15 hours, with conditions including community service, essay writing, and psychiatric counseling.
Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both young IT professionals. CCTV footage revealed that the victims were struck by the speeding Porsche after making a U-turn.
