3 upcoming big launches from Tata Motors

Tata Motors is set to launch three exciting new models in the Indian market soon. After securing a 13.63 percent market share in FY2024 and ranking third among the top 10 car manufacturers in India, the company is aiming to move up to the second spot with the introduction of the Tata Curvv, Nexon CNG, and Harrier EV.

The Tata Curvv, the company’s first coupe SUV, has been spotted testing frequently and is expected to launch later this year as an EV, with ICE variants following in early 2025. Built on Tata Motors’ new Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, the Curvv EV is projected to offer a driving range of 400 to 450 km per charge. The ICE version will feature a 125 hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol or a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, with transmission options including a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT gearbox. Pricing for the Curvv is expected to range from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tata Nexon CNG will be the company’s first factory-fitted CNG car, featuring a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118 hp and 170 Nm of torque. This model will come with both manual and AMT gearbox options. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, the Nexon CNG is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh over the standard petrol variants.

Tata Harrier EV: Expanding the Electric Vehicle Lineup

The Tata Harrier EV, set to debut in early 2025, will be built on the Gen 2 Acti.ev platform and is anticipated to offer a range of 500 km per charge. The prototype has already been spotted during testing, revealing significant details about the upcoming model. The Harrier EV is expected to start at a price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market, continuing Tata Motors’ push towards expanding its electric vehicle lineup.
