Volkswagen Taigun is expected to be launched in early 2021, will rival the likes of Kia seltos, Hyundai Creta and Nissan kicks.
EXTERIORS
The Taigun is expected to be based on the MQB A0 IN Platform specifically made for Indian Market, the same platform is also likely to be used in the upcoming Skoda vision IN SUV, the direct rival of Taigun.
The Taigun draws significant inspiration from the VW T-cross sold in Global Markets. The front profile flaunts typical VW’s triple-slat horizontal grille merging directly with the sleek blacked-out LED headlamp cluster along with the bright LED DRL’s, The inevitable glossy lower half of the front profile houses LED foglamps being surrounded by a subtle curvaceous chrome lining which neatly merges with each other at the centre.
The alloy wheels though looks stunning are doubted weather to be carried over to the production car. Moreover, the SUV also boasts dual tone treatment, chrome window lining, sleek roof-rails, LED taillights merged by a reflector strip with smoked out effect and faux diffuser with silver/chrome housing.
INTERIOR
The Cabin of the Taigun Concept shows-off it’s catchy dual-tone interior with Body coloured panels running across the entire dashboard, centre console, doorpads and lower half of the steering-wheel.
The SUV also features Flat-bottom steering wheel, dual-zone A/C, Rear A/C vents, Big Touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, cruiser control and a full digital instrument cluster.
POWERTRAIN
Expected to be powered by a 1.0L three-cylinder TSI engine producing 113 Bhp and 200 Nm of power and torque respectively mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
NOTE: there’s no possibility of Taigun to be coming equipped with an AWD for Indian Market like the Global Taigun.
