Upcoming SUVs under Rs.25 lakh with 500 km range

The electric SUV market is becoming highly competitive, with major automotive brands entering the sector in 2024 or 2025. Here are four upcoming midsize Electric SUVs with a range of 450-500 km or above:

1. Maruti Suzuki eVX: Expected to debut later this year, the eVX will have a Toyota counterpart in early 2025. It will offer two battery options and both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, featuring a claimed range of around 550 km from a 60 kWh battery pack.

2. Hyundai Creta Electric: Anticipated for release by the end of 2024, the Creta’s electric variant will utilize batteries supplied by LG Chem. It will boast a unique exterior design compared to the internal combustion engine (IC-engined) Creta, potentially sharing the front-wheel-drive electric motor with the entry-level Kona Electric.

3. Mahindra XUV.e8: Expected to hit showrooms by the end of 2024, the XUV.e8 will be constructed on the INGLO platform, sharing design elements with the XUV700. The estimated driving range exceeds 450 km, and it will borrow features from its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling.

4. Tata Curvv EV:Following the introduction of the Punch EV, Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Curvv EV in the coming months. Based on the Acti.ev platform, it will offer two battery options, with the larger one capable of a range exceeding 500 km. The interior will boast a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital console, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, and more.
