The 3-door jimny, in International Market is in such high demand that Suzuki started manufacturing Jimny in it’s Manesar Plant in Gujarat for the purpose of just ‘Export’
As per the latest news from Japanese Media, the more capacious 5-door Suzuki Jimny is likely come powered by a Turbo-Petrol motor with Suzuki’s Hybrid tech. Meanwhile, the standard 3-door Jimny is likely to be powered the 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated Motor which powers most of the Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa Cars.
The 5-door Suzuki Jimny is likely to be longer by 300 mm and heavier than 100kg than the standard 3-door Jimny whereas the Height, Width and Ground Clearance is likely remain the same.
The Report Suggests that the 1.4L Turbo-Petrol engine which Suzuki likes to call ‘BoosterJet’ produces 140 PS and 235 NM which by the way also does it’s duty in Vitara (Not Brezza) and Swift Sport. However, for the Jimny the figures are likely to tuned slightly lower around 130 PS. The Mild-Hybrid tech would also come as mandatory with the Engine. However the Engine which is confirmed for the Indian Market is 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated Motor producing 102 PS and 130 NM mated to 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto Transmission

The Jimny may not have a primary rival in India. However, After hitting the Indian Shores, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is likely to go up against the likes of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, also some compact SUV’s and Sub-Compact SUV’s upto a certain extent. The 5-door Jimny will be sold via brands premium Nexa outlets.
