Bajaj Auto has unveiled the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle, the Freedom 125. In response, TVS Motor Company is developing a similar product, focusing on a CNG-powered scooter. According to a media report, TVS has created a CNG powertrain expected to debut in the Jupiter scooter, potentially hitting the market by late 2024 or early next year. Internally referred to as ‘U740’, the TVS Jupiter 125 CNG project might feature a small petrol tank as a range extender alongside a CNG tank, although technical details remain undisclosed.

While TVS Motor Company has not confirmed these reports, it expressed interest in diverse technologies such as CNG, electric vehicles (EV), and multi-fuel options. The company has plans to launch another electric two-wheeler, an internal combustion engine (ICE) model, and an electric three-wheeler later this year.
