The recent Pune Porsche crash highlights severe issues in India’s traffic system, from underage and drunk driving to regular rule violations. In metro cities, broken roads, diversions, and traffic jams worsen the situation, increasing accident risks.

To tackle this, Maharashtra has amended the Motor Vehicles Act, 2019, significantly raising fines to enforce better traffic adherence. Common mistakes include driving without a license, helmet, or seatbelt, overspeeding, and signal jumping. Notably, many violators are motorcyclists and auto-rickshaw drivers.
