Toyota to launch Mini-Fortuner in India to take on Thar Roxx & Scorpio-N

Toyota is reportedly developing a new mid-size SUV to compete with Mahindra, positioned between the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Fortuner. This new SUV will likely be built on Toyota’s TNGA platform, which has a monocoque design unlike Mahindra’s body-on-frame models. It will have a rugged look similar to the smaller Fortuner, with a higher ground clearance for off-road capabilities.

Seeing the price gap between the Hyryder and Fortuner which Mahindra has effectively filled with devices like the Scorpio-N and Thar Roxx, Toyota aims to address this with its new offering It is expected that The SUV will come with petrol-powered hybrid engine options, of a pure electric variant is also being considered.
