Last year, Toyota introduced the Urban SUV concept, an electric SUV based on the Suzuki eVX, marking Toyota’s entry into the Indian market with pure-electric vehicles. Recent reports indicate that the vehicle may be available for purchase by the latter part of 2025. According to media reports, Toyota’s first electric SUV is expected to be released around September-October 2025, approximately six months after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki eVX.
Constructed on the 27PL skateboard platform, the Toyota Urban SUV concept will be produced alongside its counterpart, the eVX. It will offer consumers a choice between two battery options, delivering up to 550 km of range, and the flexibility of either a single or dual-motor configuration.
