Toyota Fortuner Legender to arrive in early 2021

 

Toyota is gearing up to launch the more capable Fortuner ‘Legender’ in early 2021 with refreshed design and styling, modish features and new sets of powertrain.

According to a Media report, The new Fortuner Legender will be placed above the standard Fortuner with a significant premium due to additional features and enhanced robust styling. Moreover, the standard Fortuner is also expected to be sold alongside the Legender.


WHATS NEW?

Although the standard Fortuner is expected to be altered with it’s design and styling theme but the alterations are expected to be more significant and larger with the Legender. The Legender gets more chiseled and forked headlamps (Dual LED projectors with swiping turn indicators) which are being further adorned and embellished by the piano black treatment on the upper half portion of the Headlamp cluster. At the front profile, one can easily notice limited or no use of chrome unlike the outgoing Fortuner also there is a redesigned piano black grille and Jet inspired massive air intake. Moreover at the side there’s an added 20-inch wheels along with a black cladding and a new resigned bumper at the rear.

Feature Wise, you get 360-degree camera, wireless charging, lane departure warning, radar-based cruise control, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Wheel orientation sensors.


POWERTRAIN

Toyota is likely to to retune the 2.8L diesel Engine to produce 204 bhp and 500 nm @1600 Rpm of power and torque respectively. The escalation of power and torque is the result of Variable nozzle Turbo, influenced by an electric Motor in order to develop higher efficiency. The 2.4L diesel engine used in Innova may do it’s duty in Fortuner as well which will marginally help in cost reduction of the SUV.


PRICE

At present the Top End Trim of the Fortuner retails at around Rs 34.43 lakh, reports suggests that the Legender is expected to be priced from Rs 43 lakh, making it expensive than better equipped MG Gloster and the most expensive premium SUV in it’s segment as well.
