Toyota, renowned for its reliable vehicles and innovative technologies, recently introduced a new 48V hybrid system for its turbo diesel-engined cars. Initially available in the Toyota Hilux pickup and Land Cruiser Prado SUV, this system is poised for potential integration into the next-generation Toyota Fortuner. Toyota shared a video on their official Toyota Global YouTube channel, outlining the components and advantages of the new hybrid system.
Toyota Fortuner Hybrid will get 15 kmpl fuel economy
The system, comprising a conventional diesel engine and additional components, offers three key benefits. Firstly, it ensures smoother stop-and-start functionality. Secondly, it boosts fuel efficiency by 10%, enabling vehicles to cover 1200 km on a full tank, which translates to 15 kmpl efficiency based on an 80L fuel tank. Lastly, it maintains water-crossing performance while incorporating hybrid capabilities.
