You never know what surprises Indian roads can hold. Recently, an unusual sight was spotted: a BMW 6-Series with a CNG kit. The vehicle in question is a V8 engine-powered BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe, modified for better fuel efficiency with an aftermarket CNG kit. Additionally, a Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader was also fitted with a CNG kit, as shown in the same video.
The video, shared on YouTube by Sai Fuel Vadodara, showcases the BMW 650i with its new CNG kit. The host mentions traveling to Surat to review this unique car. The video highlights the car’s midnight blue exterior, tan leather interior, and under the bonnet, the aftermarket CNG kit. The vlogger explains that this BMW, with its V8 engine, has two CNG rails, each with four injectors. The kit, sold by Italian brand Zavoli, includes a new ECU and a CNG pressure gauge, with filling nozzles at both the front and rear of the car.
In the final segment, the vlogger demonstrates the CNG gas cylinder fitted in the boot, installed by Maruti Auto Gas. The 12 kg cylinder can hold approximately 8 kgs of CNG. Before taking the car for a drive, the video captures the revving of the V8 engine, producing a notable exhaust note. While driving, the vlogger notes that the ride quality remains unchanged, and no error codes appear on the dashboard. This BMW 650i, originally priced around Rs 1.1 crore, retains its impressive performance with a 4.8-liter V8 petrol engine, generating 362 bhp and 489 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 5.5 seconds.
