This is India’s first Maruti Jimny converted into a Mercedes G-wagon

Maruti Suzuki introduced the 5-door Jimny last year, receiving mixed reactions due to its high price tag. Despite this, some enthusiasts have embraced the SUV, with a portion opting for modifications. One popular customization is the G-Wagon conversion, and a recent video by VikFlickTv showcases the transformation of a Jimny into a mini G-Wagen at a workshop in Delhi. The month-long project involved damping the car’s interiors with around 40 sheets, followed by the removal and replacement of exterior panels with a genuine G-Wagon kit.

The matte black finish, roof-mounted lamps, sporty spoiler, G-Wagen-like plastic cladding, and new alloy wheels complement the overall transformation.

The G-Wagon-themed customization extends to the interior, featuring a Red and Black theme, G-Wagon-like AC vents, ambient lighting, and upgraded audio systems. The dashboard incorporates painted red, gloss black, and matte black elements, with carbon fiber inserts enhancing the aesthetics. Additionally, the modified exhaust system includes a valvetronic exhaust with side-exiting tips, mimicking the original G63 AMG. The total cost for the Jimny to G-Wagen conversion, including matte black peelable paint, exhaust, and interior customization, is around Rs 6.5 lakh, while the alloy wheels and tires add approximately Rs 1 lakh to the expense.
