Land Rover Defender Taxi

A white Land Rover Defender 130, India’s first Defender taxi, was recently spotted on a highway covered in mud. The vehicle, owned by Ramesh Tours and Travels, belongs to Ramesh Babu, a barber from Bengaluru who also owns a Rolls Royce and a Maybach. Despite his luxury car collection, Ramesh still cuts hair and charges Rs 100 per haircut. This Defender 130, finished in Fuji White with a black roof and a VIP registration number “0006,” is available for rent at Rs 3,000 per hour.

Ramesh Babu started his car rental business in 1994 after saving enough money to buy a Maruti Suzuki Omni, which he initially rented out while continuing his barber trade. Over the years, his business flourished, and he now owns over 200 cars, including the newly acquired Land Rover Defender 130. The Defender is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology, producing 296 bhp and 600 Nm of torque, and features a black and tan interior.
