Launched in 2020, the Mahindra Thar quickly gained popularity in the Indian market. Numerous modified versions of the Thar have been featured, but today we highlight one owned by a woman from Delhi, showcased in a YouTube video by Mihir Galat. The video introduces the owner and delves into her passion for cars, noting that her dream vehicle is the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG.
The owner, who began her car journey with a BMW, explains her choice of the Mahindra Thar. Her fascination with the SUV started about two years ago when she drove a friend’s Thar and instantly fell in love with it. Since then, she has aspired to own and extensively modify a Thar. The modifications include a Wrangler-inspired 7-slat grille, aftermarket projector LED headlights, roof lights, and LED fog lamp bulbs.
Significant changes have been made to the car’s appearance and functionality. The owner installed 22-inch alloy wheels, which she sourced from Punjab at a cost of Rs. 2.2 lakhs. These wheels caught her eye on an Instagram reel, leading her to replace the initial 20-inch wheels. The car also features black-tinted windshields for heat and privacy, and aftermarket taillights.

Inside, the modifications include Mercedes-inspired AC vents and active ambient lighting, bringing the total cost of the car to Rs. 22 lakhs. The video also covers the challenges posed by the wider alloy wheels, such as difficulty in traffic. Despite the modifications, the owner notes the Thar’s lack of comfort and poor fuel economy, averaging around seven kilometers per liter for the 4×4 petrol automatic version.
