Tata Sierra is finally coming back to India

The Tata Sierra EV was initially unveiled in concept form at Auto Expo 2020, where Tata revealed it was based on the Altroz’s ALFA platform. The concept measured 4,150mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,675mm in height, and had a 2,450mm wheelbase. A more production-ready second concept was showcased at Auto Expo 2023, featuring a standard 5-door body instead of the unique four-door arrangement seen in the 2020 concept.

Tata has confirmed that the Sierra EV will be launched before March 2026. It is expected to utilize the brand’s Acti.EV architecture, similar to the Punch EV and the upcoming Harrier EV, and will likely be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform.

In terms of design, the Sierra EV will incorporate some instantly recognizable features from the original Sierra of the 90s. The production model is expected to retain the signature curved-over rear-side windows, squarish wheel arches, and high-set bonnet that were present on the concept, all of which are reminiscent of the original Sierra.
