Tata Motors has launched India’s inaugural CNG-powered models equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Tiago iCNG AMT starts at Rs 7,89,900, while the Tigor iCNG AMT is priced at Rs 8,84,900 (ex-showroom).
The Tiago iCNG AMT comes in four variants – XTA, XZA+, XZA+ Dual Tone, and XZA NRG. In contrast, the Tigor iCNG AMT is offered in the top-spec XZA and XZA+ trims. Both cars utilize Tata’s dual-cylinder CNG tank technology, housing two smaller cylinders beneath the luggage area to conserve boot space.
Powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm @ 3,500 rpm in CNG mode, both models now provide a 5-speed AMT option alongside the standard 5-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Motors has additionally introduced three new color choices: Tornado Blue for the Tiago, Grassland Beige for the Tiago NRG, and Meteor Bronze for the Tigor.
