Tata Curvv

Tata Motors is set to make a significant impact in the mid-sized SUV market with the launch of its new electric vehicle, the Tata Curvv EV. This segment, currently dominated by models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, will soon see the entry of this innovative electric SUV coupe. The Curvv EV, which has been eagerly anticipated, will feature two battery pack options. The higher trims will be equipped with a 55 kWh battery, providing a segment-leading range of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge, while the lower trims will feature a 40.5 kWh battery similar to that in the Nexon EV. Additionally, the Curvv EV will support DC fast charging, offering up to 100 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.

In addition to the EV version, Tata will also offer the Curvv with three internal combustion engine options: a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.2-liter turbo petrol, and a 1.5-liter turbo diesel. The pricing details for these models are expected to be announced by the end of next month, with the Curvv EV expected to start around Rs. 20 lakh and go up to Rs. 24 lakh for the top-end variant. Competing in a price range with limited electric options, the Curvv EV will face off against rivals like the BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV 400, and MG ZS EV, with upcoming competition from models such as the Hyundai Creta EV and Honda Elevate EV.

Design-wise, the Tata Curvv will feature a distinctive front fascia similar to the Nexon, with connected LED bars and bumper-mounted headlights. The SUV’s coupe design, featuring a sloping roofline and flush door handles, promises better aerodynamics and SUV-like ground clearance for rough terrains. The rear design will mirror the front’s sleekness with connected LED taillights. The Curvv will also come loaded with features including a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and touch-based HVAC controls. Notably, it will be the first in its segment to offer driver drowsiness detection, further enhancing its appeal in the competitive SUV market.
