In April 2022, Tata Motors introduced the Avinya, a sleek EV concept that will evolve into a series of electric vehicles, including SUVs and MPVs. Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, announced that Avinya is not just a single model but a brand encompassing multiple products. These vehicles will feature diverse body styles, such as SUVs and MPVs, and will occupy the higher end of Tata’s product range.

The Avinya EVs will utilize JLR’s modular EMA architecture, also set to be used in the next-generation Velar, Evoque, and Discovery Sport. These vehicles, to be manufactured at Tata’s forthcoming facility in Tamil Nadu, will boast Level 2+ autonomous capabilities, an integrated propulsion system, battery management, a charging system, over-the-air updates, and ultrafast charging capabilities.
