Stricter emission norms in Europe and the UK have led to the discontinuation of the Suzuki Jimny, previously sold as a commercial cargo van. To mark its departure, Suzuki Germany has launched the Jimny Horizon Edition, limited to 900 units and available only in Medium Gray. This special edition features retro styling, including black decals, an aluminium skid plate, stylish mud flaps, and a Suzuki-branded spare wheel cover.
Despite its popularity as a compact off-roader, the Jimny’s current petrol engine fails to meet new emission standards. However, a mild hybrid variant is in development, which will reintroduce the Jimny as a personal vehicle with four seats, ensuring its legacy continues.

The future of the Jimny in Europe and the UK includes a return with a mild or strong hybrid engine, and a fully electric version is expected by 2030. The 0.66L Turbo petrol engine used in Japan might meet European standards but remains JDM-specific. The Jimny Horizon Edition, limited to 900 units, features a 2-seater format with an 863L cargo area and is priced at EUR 32,340 (approximately Rs 29.2 lakh).
