Skoda’s Tata Nexon rival spied testing for the first time

The Mahindra XUV 3OO has recently captured significant attention online due to its success. While discussions around this compact SUV continue, new information has emerged about its upcoming competitor. The Skoda Compact SUV, spotted testing again in India, is rapidly gaining interest. Recent spy shots reveal several key design details, suggesting a production-ready model. The front features a split headlamp design with LED DRLs at the top and main LED headlamp units below, though notably lacking fog lamps. Additionally, the SUV showcases the signature Skoda family front grille and a muscular bonnet.

The side profile of the Skoda SUV reveals a boxy design, reminiscent of the Skoda Kushaq, and highlights its high ground clearance. At the rear, the SUV features LED tail lamps in line with Skoda’s design language, along with a rear spoiler and rear wiper. In a recent event, Skoda hinted at the advanced features the new SUV will offer, including ADAS and a 360-degree camera. However, these features will first appear in more premium Skoda models like the Kushaq and Slavia. The SUV is also expected to come with a 10.0-inch touchscreen system, ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, and 6 airbags as standard, and it aims for a 5-star safety rating based on the Kushaq’s MQB-AO-IN platform.

Skoda has confirmed the engine options for the new compact SUV, which will include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 113bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will likely consist of a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic transmission. These specifications align with Skoda’s commitment to performance and efficiency in their vehicles.
