Skoda India has reissued its flagship sedan, the Superb, in response to escalating customer demand, pricing it at ₹54 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Although the fourth-generation Superb has been globally launched, India will initially receive the facelifted third-generation model. Limited to just 100 units, the Superb will be imported as a fully assembled unit (CBU).
Exclusive to the top-tier Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim, the Superb offers an array of premium features, including a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, electrically-adjustable front seats, a 12-speaker sound system, triple-zone climate control, and ambient lighting, among others. Safety features encompass nine airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, fatigue/drowsiness detection, and parking assist. Impressively, the Superb has earned a 5-star rating for adult and child occupant protection in Euro NCAP safety tests.
Powering the Superb is its unchanged 2.0-litre petrol engine, producing 188 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda has updated this engine to meet the rigorous BS6.2 emissions standards. Enhanced with Skoda’s Dynamic Chassis Control, offering four preset suspension modes and one customizable mode, the Superb ensures a refined driving experience. While the sedan experiences minimal cosmetic alterations, it showcases new 18-inch alloy wheels, previously featured on the fourth-gen Octavia. Additionally, two new color options – Rosso Brunello and Water World Green – complement the existing Magic Black color option.
