Pune Porsche Accident : 17 year old safely completes RTO driving test at RTO

Pune Porsche crash: police to move Supreme Court against HC order to release minor accused | Pune News - The Indian Express

Sources revealed that the teenager, the son of a well-known city builder, discreetly attended training sessions at the RTO. “His training ended around 22-23 days ago. We strictly followed the court’s instructions to maintain his privacy,” an anonymous RTO official disclosed.

The accident occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyaninagar when the teenager, returning to Wadgaon Sheri after partying at two pubs in Mundhwa, lost control of his Porsche Taycan and crashed into a bike, instantly killing both riders.

The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted the minor bail with specific conditions, including writing a 300-word essay on road safety and completing a 15-day road safety training program at the RTO. The RTO also revoked the Porsche’s temporary registration and barred the teenager from obtaining a driving license until he turns 25.

During his RTO sessions, the teenager was educated on road safety and vehicle management. “We took him through daily activities at the RTO, explained road signs and their significance, and emphasized the importance of road safety,” said the official. “He also participated in field trips during his training and showed genuine interest in understanding practical safe driving and road safety rules.”

Following the JJB’s bail order, Pune police sought a review, leading to the teenager’s brief detention at an observation home on May 21. However, his paternal aunt petitioned the Bombay High Court, which on June 25 ordered his release while upholding the JJB’s conditions, including completing the safe driving training program.
