The third-generation Hyundai Creta is set to launch in India in 2027, following the debut of the second-generation facelift in January of last year.
Key Highlights:
- Codenamed SX3, the new Creta is currently in development.
- Current engine options are expected to carry over, with a hybrid variant being considered.
- The Creta Electric will also receive a mid-cycle update in 2027.
What to Expect from the Next-Gen Hyundai Creta
Details about the third-generation Creta are still scarce, but it will be produced at Hyundai’s facility in Tamil Nadu. The new model is likely to keep the existing powertrain options:
- 1.5L Petrol (115hp)
- 1.5L Turbo-Petrol (160hp)
- 1.5L Diesel (116hp)
These engines will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Potential Hybrid Powertrain
A strong hybrid powertrain is also in the works, which could make the next-gen Creta Hyundai’s first hybrid offering in India. This model is anticipated to launch after the Hyundai Ni1i SUV, which will be positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson and is expected to feature a 1.5L petrol engine combined with an electric motor.
In addition to powertrain updates, the third-gen Creta is likely to showcase a refreshed design, an expanded features list, and improved safety technology, bringing it in line with Hyundai’s global SUV offerings.
Hyundai Creta Electric Facelift in 2027
Alongside the new ICE Creta, Hyundai plans to unveil a mid-cycle facelift for the Creta Electric in 2027. Unlike the ICE version, which will see a complete overhaul, the Creta Electric, introduced at Auto Expo 2025, will receive design updates, technology enhancements, and potentially a longer driving range through larger batteries or better battery-management software.
With Hyundai’s commitment to innovation, the 2027 Creta lineup is expected to deliver improved features and performance.
