Tata Motors is getting ready to launch the first cars in India that run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and have Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). These cars, called Tiago CNG AMT and Tigor CNG AMT, have gotten a lot of interest, and people can now book them before they officially hit the market in a few days.

A close look at the Tiago CNG AMT has been made available by Kataria Garage. This shows off the cool features and design that make it special. The Tiago CNG AMT will come in three types, while the Tigor CNG AMT will have two types.

Both the Tiago and Tigor already come with petrol engines and manual or AMT options. Now, they will also have CNG options, which have a bit less power but are only available with a manual transmission. Adding AMT to the CNG models is a big deal because it’s the first time automatic transmission is available for CNG cars in India. It offers a different driving experience for people.

Even though the cars have automatic transmission, the fuel efficiency might be a bit lower compared to the manual ones. The Tiago CNG starts at Rs 6.55 lakh, while the Tigor CNG starts at Rs 7.80 lakh (before taxes), costing about Rs 60,000 more than the manual versions.

The AMT versions of Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG are expected to set new standards in their category. They look similar to the regular models with cool features like projector headlamps, auto-folding mirrors, and fancy wheels.

Inside, there’s automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch screen for entertainment, a part-digital display for the driver, and a great sound system with 8 speakers. Safety is also important, with features like airbags, a rear camera, and systems to monitor tire pressure, ABS, and EBD. Tata’s twin-cylinder technology ensures good performance while saving space in the trunk.

The Tiago CNG competes with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG, and Wagon R CNG, while the Tigor CNG competes with Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG and Hyundai Aura CNG. Other carmakers might follow Tata’s lead and make more CNG cars with automatic transmission. In the future, Tata might also offer AMT options for models like the Tata Punch and Tata Altroz CNG, giving people more choices.
