Maruti Suzuki is reportedly set to launch the CNG version of its latest-generation Swift hatchback next week.
The 2024 Maruti Swift CNG is expected to debut on September 12. The CNG option will be available across multiple variants, all equipped with a new 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine and a 60-litre CNG tank in the boot. Although Maruti has not officially announced the power figures, reports indicate that the engine could produce around 70 BHP and 100 Nm of torque when running on CNG.
The previous generation Swift CNG offered a fuel efficiency of 30.9 km/kg, so the new version is likely to deliver a similar or slightly improved mileage.
Once launched, the 2024 Swift CNG will compete with the Tata Tiago CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG hatchbacks in India.
