Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading carmaker, has seen a shift in the response to one of its popular models, the Swift, which has been on the market since 2005. Once a top-selling hatchback for Maruti, the current generation of the Swift has not met the company’s expectations, leading to significant discounts on the model. Currently, buyers can avail of discounts up to Rs 89,000 on the Swift.

Maruti Swift Now Available with Rs. 89,000 Discount Less Than 6 Months After Launch

Initially, Maruti offered discounts only on lower variants of the new Swift, but in October, these offers were extended to the higher ZXI and ZXI+ variants. The top-spec ZXI+ variant now includes a Rs 55,000 cash discount, a dealer discount of Rs 19,000, and a Rs 15,000 exchange bonus, totaling Rs 89,000 in savings. Similarly, the ZXI variant is available with a Rs 50,000 cash discount, a Rs 19,000 dealer discount, and a Rs 15,000 exchange bonus, adding up to Rs 84,000 off.

Such substantial discounts on a newly launched Maruti model are unusual. There are several reasons for this, including mixed reactions to the Swift’s latest design. Additionally, the top-end variant’s pricing, close to Rs 10 lakh, has deterred some potential buyers. Another factor is the growing popularity of sub-4 meter SUVs in India; customers visiting Arena dealerships for the Swift are often drawn to the Brezza instead, as its lower variants are priced near the Swift’s higher trims.

These factors have led Maruti to boost discounts on the Swift, but the actual offers may vary based on stock and location. For the best deals, it’s recommended to contact local dealerships directly.
