The Mumbai police took away at least 41 luxury cars and exotics parked at the Jio World Drive Mall. These cars were supposed to join a rally scheduled for January 26.

Media reports say the rally was organized by a company without permission from the Mumbai police, despite a ban from January 23 to February 6, 2024.

The rally was planned to have about 100 cars, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, McLarens, BMWs, Jaguars, Audis, and Mercedes. It was supposed to start at 6 am from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and go to Atal Setu.

Police have charged the owners of the seized cars under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for disobeying the order of a public servant and the Maharashtra Police Act 1951.
