Maruti Suzuki recently sent several of its models, including the Baleno, Brezza, and Grand Vitara, for testing at the Bharat NCAP crash test facility. Despite reports suggesting that Maruti would release the test results before the assembly elections, the data has not been officially disclosed. However, leaked images shared by Team-Bhp and videos by Prateek Singh reveal how the Grand Vitara performed in various crash tests, including offset frontal, side, and side pole collisions. The images suggest that the SUV’s structure remained intact, with airbags deploying as expected, indicating good safety performance.

The current lack of an official safety rating leaves uncertainty, but the leaked images hint at a potential 4 or 5-star rating. The Brezza and Fronx models also reportedly showed good performance in these tests, maintaining the integrity of their A-pillars. If the Grand Vitara achieves a high rating, it could significantly boost sales and help Maruti Suzuki address criticisms about its vehicles’ build quality. The Grand Vitara is available in mild and strong hybrid versions, with prices starting at Rs 10.80 lakh and going up to Rs 20.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
