The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door has started series production at the Gurgaon plant in India after being showcased at Auto Expo 2023, where it reportedly received around 25,000 bookings. The official prices are expected to be announced in the first week of next month.
The off-roader will be available in four variants in India, with the option of manual or automatic transmission. The waiting period for manual variants is approximately six months, while automatic variants may take six to eight months.
The Jimny is equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates 103 BHP at 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm at 4,000 rpm, coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, as well as Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel-drive system.
