Mahindra is set to introduce a new entry-level petrol automatic version for the XUV700. As per the Type Approval Certificate issued by ARAI, the XUV700 will soon debut the ‘MX’ Petrol AT trim, providing a more accessible option for those interested in a petrol automatic SUV.
Currently, Mahindra offers automatic transmissions only in the AX3, AX5, and AX7 trims, starting at Rs 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The addition of the new MX AT variant is likely to substantially lower the initial price of the XUV700 automatic model.
It’s important to note that the MX range lacks several advanced features present in the AX trims. These exclusions comprise an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two additional speakers, a rear seat armrest, and a 60:40 split folding rear seat.
The XUV700 MX AT is expected to feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and four speakers, a 7-inch instrument cluster, follow-me-home headlights, powered ORVMs, and other amenities. Details regarding the pricing of the XUV700 MX Petrol AT variant are anticipated to be disclosed in the coming weeks.
