It’s been years now with the testing of next-gen xuv500, multiple scoops have been surfacing on internet for quite a long period of time. Netizens though are unhappy with such vigorous testing ,therefore demanding a quick reveal of the crossover. Recently, it was being announced that Mahindra will be naming the next-gen XUV500 as XUV700 giving a clear hint of xuv500 alongside sale.

Both the mules were being spotted together in Chennai, have put on red registration plates hinting that they both are test Vehicles.

The difference between both being, Firstly, the XUV700 has got dual-tone finish for it’s alloy wheels unlike the standard finish of the XUV500. Secondly, the XUV700 has a marginal sloping roofline compared to the latter, though the glass area appears to be the same. Lastly, the XUV700 consists of a massive panoramic Glassroof compared to the normal sunroof of the latter.

XUV700 Top Features

The XUV700 is expected to be loaded to the gills with features like fully-digital Driver’s display, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, dual-zone A/C, powered-seats and memory seats if not. However, the feature which will grab the eyeballs of customers right away will be ADAS (Advanced Driver’s assistance system) which includes safety features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous parking assist, emergency breaking assist and lane departure warning similar to what we have seen in the MG Gloster.

Engine and Transmission

The XUV700 will be powered by thoroughly new sets of powertrain. The basic trims are expected to be powered by an outgoing 2.2L diesel engines meanwhile the top trims are expected to be powered by a new 2.0L turbo-diesel engine belting out 180 BHP of Power and a new 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol similar to the thar but the power and torque figures are expected to be tuned higher for the XUV700.
