A strange event happened with an Mahindra XUV700 owner. He casually got into his car parked in the neighborhood market’s parking slot to head back home. After putting the car in reverse and using the rear camera, he shifted to drive. As soon as the car started moving forward, he realized something was wrong—the steering felt heavy, and the car seemed off balance, as if a tire had gone flat. All the indicators and lights on the instrument panel were on, including the parking brake sign, the engine sign, and the EPB off sign.
Bewildered, he pulled the car to the side and put it in park, but the parking brake did not engage, preventing the car from turning off even with the start/stop button. Stuck with the engine running and unable to engage the parking brake, he kept the brake pedal pressed while trying to contact Mahindra service support. After several attempts to turn off the engine, he finally succeeded, though the engine sign remained when he restarted the car. He drove home with the engine sign still on and parked the car, hoping it would reset by the morning.
