Mahindra unveiled five new electric SUV concepts in August of the previous year, including the BE.05 with its distinctive design. Recently, a pre-production prototype of this electric vehicle has been spotted on public roads, closely resembling the concept showcased nearly a year ago. The prototype features the striking LED light signature at the front, although the exaggerated wheel arches seem to have been toned down, and traditional side mirrors have replaced the rearview cameras.
The Mahindra BE.05 is part of the ‘Born Electric’ range, which consists of pure-electric products built on the INGLO platform. It is anticipated that the BE.05 will come equipped with semi-active suspension, brake-by-wire technology, and various features such as drive modes and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with L2+ autonomous capability. Additionally, the SUV will offer both a frunk (front trunk) and a trunk for storage.

Mahindra BE.05 to come with single-motor and dual-motor options
The single-motor version will have an overall output ranging from 228 to 282 BHP (brake horsepower), while the dual-motor version will deliver between 335 and 389 BHP. The company claims that these SUVs will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 to 6 seconds.
Multiple battery options will be available for the BE.05, ranging from 60 to 80 kWh. Using a 175 kW fast charger, these batteries can charge up to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes. The expected debut of the Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV is scheduled for October 2025.
