Lexus NX350h – Most fuel-efficient

If you’re in the market for a luxury car in India, the European automakers present a comprehensive array of choices with frequent updates. However, Lexus India, having established itself over half a decade, is now aiming to carve out its niche in this competitive arena. With an expanded presence and a lineup of new models set to debut, beginning with the recently launched facelifted ES, Lexus is placing considerable emphasis on its second-generation NX 350h.

This new iteration of the NX marks a significant departure from its predecessor since its global introduction in 2014, now adopting the Lexus Global Architecture – K. This transition brings about structural enhancements, including improved rigidity and a repositioned battery pack for optimal weight distribution. Consequently, the NX has grown in size, featuring noticeable increases in dimensions such as length, width, and wheelbase. The updated design language presents a more cohesive and athletic stance, with refined bodywork and a redesigned spindle grille that integrates seamlessly with the overall aesthetic.

Inside the cabin, the NX introduces a fresh interior design philosophy aimed at enhancing the driver’s experience while retaining Lexus’s signature Japanese luxury ambiance. Premium materials and textures adorn the interior, complemented by intuitive controls, including a large touchscreen interface replacing the previous trackpad. Thoughtful details abound, such as the electronic latch for easier access and the sliding wireless charger pad that also serves as storage space.

In terms of performance, the NX 350h boasts an improved hybrid powertrain delivering increased power and efficiency. The transition to a lithium-ion battery pack has not only enhanced interior space but also maintained dynamic capabilities. Driving dynamics have received attention, with refined handling and impressive ride comfort, thanks in part to the adaptive suspension available in higher trim levels.

Safety features are comprehensive, with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) making their debut in India with the NX 350h. Pricing for the NX starts at Rs 64.90 lakh, reflecting the added value of its hybrid system and imported status.

Despite its premium positioning, the NX offers a compelling package with its striking design, comfortable cabin, and efficient performance, making it a worthy contender in the luxury SUV segment.
