Skoda Auto VW India is preparing to recall select units of the Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun, and Virtus due to a potential welding defect in the track control arm. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) website, production issues at the component supplier’s end may have led to an incomplete weld seam on the affected track control arm.
This flaw could cause the component to fail, resulting in a sudden loss of stability and control.A total of 52 vehicles manufactured between November 29, 2023, and January 20, 2024, are impacted, including 38 units of the Taigun and Virtus and 14 units of the Kushaq and Slavia.
While Skoda Auto VW India has yet to make a formal announcement, it is expected to reach out to owners of the affected vehicles for inspection at authorized service centers, where the faulty track control arm will likely be replaced free of charge.
