Kia India’s former CEO, Tae Jin Park, announced last year the company’s plan to introduce its flagship electric vehicle, the EV9, in India. Recent sightings in the country confirm the progress of this initiative, as the electric SUV has been spotted for the first time.
Utilizing the E-GMP platform, the Kia EV9 provides consumers with three powertrain options. The EV9 RWD is equipped with a single 215 BHP motor and a 76.1 kWh battery, offering a range of 358 km. The long-range variant features a 99.8 kWh battery, extending the range to 541 km. Additionally, the SUV incorporates a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 380 BHP.
Externally, the EV9 exhibits an attractive front fascia characterized by a solid grille, vertical LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, LED tail lights, flush-fitting door handles, and 21-inch wheels enclosed in squared-off wheel arches.
Internally, the EV9 boasts a spacious three-row seating arrangement. The dashboard showcases a sleek design with a 4-spoke steering wheel and a sizable screen housing both the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system.
