In a significant move, Jaguar is discontinuing the production of its XE, XF, and F-Type models at the Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham. The production facility will be repurposed to manufacture body panels for a new line of vehicles. Following this decision, Jaguar’s lineup will be exclusively focused on SUVs, with the I-Pace, E-Pace, and F-Pace continuing sales through 2024 in global markets.
This marks a strategic shift for Jaguar towards an all-SUV lineup until the introduction of new models in 2025.
The forthcoming models include an all-electric four-seat GT car, a luxury SUV, and a large luxury sedan, sharing the bespoke JEA platform distinct from the current models. While customers can still place orders for XE or XF models, the configuration options are limited as the final production weeks are dedicated to set specifications.
The Castle Bromwich factory, with a history dating back to 1977 and known for producing models like XK, XJ, and S-Type, will cease car production in June, signifying the end of an era.
