Hyundai is developing a twin-cylinder CNG system, branded as ‘Hy-CNG Duo’, inspired by Tata’s iCNG range. This innovation aims to address the common issue of CNG tanks occupying most of the boot space by using two smaller cylinders positioned under the boot floor. Currently, Hyundai’s Grand i10 NIOS, Aura, and Exter models come with factory-fitted CNG kits, which significantly reduce luggage space.

The ‘Hy-CNG’ trademark, recently filed and approved, hints at a broader CNG range in Hyundai’s future lineup. Expected to debut in models like the i20 and Venue, this new technology will position the i20 CNG against competitors like the Maruti Baleno and Tata Altroz, while the Venue will challenge the CNG versions of the Brezza and Nexon.
