Ford is reportedly preparing to re-enter the Indian market, focusing on introducing the next-generation Endeavour while not planning to reintroduce the EcoSport, Figo, and Aspire models.
According to sources in the media, Ford will refrain from bringing smaller petrol or diesel models to the Indian market and will instead concentrate on the T6 platform, which underpins the Everest and Ranger vehicles.
Citing an unnamed source, the report suggests that Ford’s involvement with mass-market internal combustion engine models made in India has come to a close. The company’s internal combustion engine strategy in India will now be restricted to T6 products.
The Ford Everest and Ranger pickup trucks have already been observed undergoing testing in India, with both models being assessed for local assembly. However, the decision to commence production hinges on the company’s electric vehicle strategy.
