We all must be aware with Mahindra-Ford JV, under this agreement the upcoming Ford Cars for India will share it’s underpinnings with the new Mahindra Vehicles and also to be manufactured by Mahindra itself. Although, the marketing, sales, promotion and service operations are to done by Ford India itself. The first Car or rather the first SUV to be launched under this agreement will be the Ford CX757 based on the upcoming XUV500. The SUV is likely to go on sale in second half of 2021. The SUV once launched will directly compete against the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and MG Hector.
Recently, A render image giving a clear idea of it’s production avatar went viral over the internet few days back. Though the CX757 will be based on the same 2021 XUV500 platform, the car is unlikely to be a simply rebadged version of the XUV500. The SUV is said to have slightly smaller dimensions than the XUV500 along with more sporty and athletic design rather than sumptuous.
Speaking about the above render, You have a nice sleek looking LED DRl’s upfront (which has some sort of resemblance with the new tucson) along with a grille having horizontal chrome slats. At the two sides, we have got D-shaped smoked-out Headlamp cluster consisting of triple Bi-Xenon lights. Underneath, there is nothing much playing in there, so you have got a simple silver skid plates.
POWERTRAIN
The W605 will be powered by the same engine to be used by the upcoming XUV500. So, a 2.0L mStallion T-GDi turbocharged 4-Cylinder petrol engine producing 187 Bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Also, a diesel engine option is expected to be offered later. Also if the rumours are to believed, the CX757 could be an enthusiast-oriented SUV like a typical Ford with better agility and dynamic capabilities.
