The Delhi government will discontinue fuel supply to vehicles over 15 years old at petrol pumps across the city from March 31, 2025, said Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
After a meeting regarding control of air pollution, Sirsa said the petrol pumps would be installed with devices to recognize and limit refueling for such vehicles. The decision will also be notified to the Union Ministry of Petroleum by the government.
Additionally, high-rise buildings, hotels, and commercial complexes must install anti-smog guns. Nearly 90% of Delhi’s CNG buses will be phased out by December 2025, replaced by electric buses to promote cleaner public transport.
