Bharat NCAP has introduced a new sticker to indicate the safety ratings of vehicles. This label will display the safety rating awarded to each vehicle, giving consumers “first-hand information” about a vehicle’s safety level. It will be provided to manufacturers for all vehicles assessed under Bharat NCAP.
The safety rating label includes a QR code that customers can scan to access a detailed crash test report. It also shows the star rating for adult and child occupant protection, the vehicle model name, and the date of the test.
Bharat NCAP, launched in October 2023, has already evaluated several vehicles under its new car assessment program, including the Tata Harrier, Safari, Nexon.ev, and Punch.ev. All four SUVs have received a 5-star safety rating.
