Bengaluru Doctor Converts his Car into Mobile Clinic to help Senior and underprivileged citizens

In the COVID-19 pandemic, India witnessed many incidents which restored our faith in humanity and selflessness. One such example of great valour is Dr. Sunil Hebbi from Bengaluru. To help senior citizens and marginalized section of the society, he converted his Mahindra Verito into a mobile clinic.

This proposition of car cum clinic popped into Dr.Hebbi’s mind in January 2020 while he undertook a Health Yatra, which aimed to provide primary treatment and health check ups to low income class people residing in the remote areas in outskirts of Bengaluru. For this right minded initiative, he got himself a second hand Mahindra Verito and loaded it’s boot and back seat with medical equipment and other necessary supplies.

Dr. Hebbi works night shift at Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Covid Centre yet he puts up his mask at 10 am everyday and drives off to people who need urgent medical attention. In his mobile clinic, all sorts of transportable medical equipment like ECG machine and oxygen concentrator are present.

His Mahindra Verito, is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 65PS and 160NM of power and torque respectively. Even after being a used car, nine years later it continues to provide a mileage of 10-11 kmpl. Talking of his favorite car, he loves another Mahindra car, XUV 500 and wishes to own it someday.

One can reach out to Dr. Sunil Hebbi on his What’s app no.; 6363832491 and 9741958428. He attends all his patients via appointment and has prioritized senior citizens and critically ill patients first.
