All new Mahindra Scorpio Pickup spotted testing completely undisguised

Mahindra, known for its bold ventures into niche segments in the Indian automotive market, has taken another step, this time with the Mahindra Pikup. While some enthusiasts hoped for a lifestyle pickup truck, the company is preparing to launch a subtly redesigned 2025 Mahindra Pikup aimed at global markets. Thanks to automotive enthusiast Ganesh Pagar, spy shots of the Scorpio Pikup test mule have emerged, revealing the vehicle in a striking red shade, uncamouflaged, around the Mahindra plant in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The unmasked Scorpio Pikup test mule prominently featured stickers on the front windshield marked “South Africa” and “S1100”, indicating its primary market and top-spec trim. Despite its top-tier status, the test mule sported steel wheels with wheel covers and a commercial-style roll cage. The new design elements include a completely revamped front end, akin to the popular Mahindra Scorpio Classic, and a larger six-slat grille, replacing the previous seven-slat design. This update also showcases Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, aligning the Pikup with the premium Scorpio N and XUV700 models.

Additional design tweaks are evident in the mildly revised projector headlights with a smoked effect and LED DRLs housed in the fog lamp enclosures. The 2025 model retains practical features like rock sliders that double as side steps. At the rear, the Pikup features prominent Mahindra badging and a pull-up type tailgate handle. Engine specifications include a 2.2L Turbo Diesel engine capable of delivering 140 PS (103 kW) of peak power and 320 Nm of torque. The vehicle is expected to retain the sole 6-speed automatic gearbox with both 4X2 and 4X4 options for the South African market.

With these updates, the pricing for the Mahindra Pikup S11 is anticipated to increase slightly. Currently, the top-spec S11 in South Africa starts at Rand 465,099 (Rs. 21.35 lakh) for the 4X2 Auto and goes up to Rand 535,099 (Rs. 24.57 lakh) for one of the Karoo Editions 4X4 Auto. The refreshed Pikup is poised to continue its popularity in markets such as Australia and South Africa, reflecting Mahindra’s commitment to evolving its product lineup for global appeal.
