Tata Motors has introduced its highly anticipated fifth all-electric vehicle, the Curvv EV, in India. Priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh, it is set to compete directly with the MG ZS EV, which ranges from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.44 lakh.

Reasons

– Tata’s after-sales service quality can be unpredictable, making it a bit of a gamble.
– The suspension, especially with the 18-inch wheels on the top variant, has a firm edge to it, leading to a ride that, while manageable, can still feel bumpy on bad roads. The 17-inch wheels on lower variants might offer a better ride.
– Rearward visibility is limited, which is common among Coupe-SUVs.
– Build quality and fit & finish, though satisfactory, could use some improvement.
– The rear seat can be uncomfortable for taller passengers due to the high floor, limited headroom from the coupe styling, and challenging ingress & egress.
– As a new Tata launch, the chances of initial batch issues are relatively high.
– Some features are missing, like telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, cupholders for front passengers, and a rear sunshade.
– The usual EV challenges apply, including concerns about charging infrastructure and range anxiety.
