Dacia, a brand owned by Renault, has unveiled the all-new Duster SUV globally and is reportedly developing a 7-seater version named the ‘Bigster’. Based on the Duster, it will share components and the same CMF-B platform, with a longer body measuring 4.6 meters compared to the Duster’s 4.3 meters, offering a more spacious cabin and similar powertrain options.
The Bigster will retain many styling elements from the Duster and feature slightly upgraded interiors with better materials. Powertrain options will include a 1.6-liter petrol-hybrid, a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol with a 48V starter motor, and a 1.0-liter petrol-LPG, with both 4×4 and 4×2 options available, as well as multiple drive modes.
Expected to compete with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Kia Carens, the Renault version of the Bigster will likely enter the Indian market after the new Duster, which is set to launch in 2025.
