Mumbai-Pune Expressway to remain closed : check details

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has scheduled a temporary closure of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway for an hour on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. The shutdown, planned from 12 noon to 1 pm, aims to facilitate the installation of a three-leg serviceable gantry. During this period, all traffic on the Mumbai to Pune lane will be completely halted.

In a release, the MSRDC advised commuters to use alternate routes to reach their destinations during the closure. Vehicles traveling to Pune can take a right turn from the Kalamboli circle (0.0 km) and follow NH 48 (old Mumbai-Pune Highway). Additionally, the Kalamboli-Karanjade-Palaspe route (0.0 km) is available for reaching NH 48 and continuing the journey to Pune.

Traffic diversions will also be in place according to the MSRDC. Vehicles will be rerouted from Kon bridge to merge back onto the Mumbai-Pune Expressway at 9.8 km. Similarly, traffic from Mumbai to Pune can take the Shingroba Ghat route on NH 48 and merge with the expressway at Magic Point (42 km). This shutdown mirrors a previous closure on the Pune to Mumbai lane for similar gantry installation work.
