MG Motor India has launched the MG Astor 2024, starting at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it to compete with rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
The MG Astor 2024 lineup includes Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro variants, offering exclusive choices in the petrol-only SUV category. It offers two engine options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit delivering 110bhp and 144Nm, and a 1.3-liter turbocharged unit generating 140bhp and 220Nm. The 1.5-liter engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, while the 1.3-liter engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Loaded with features, the MG Astor 2024 comes equipped with ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, and an auto-dimming IRVM. The SUV features an updated i-Smart 2.0 system with over 80 connected features. Notable i-Smart 2.0 features include the Jio voice recognition system, offering advanced voice commands for functions like weather updates, cricket scores, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news, and knowledge. The advanced user interface allows widget customization on the home screen, multiple home pages, and a unique birthday wish feature on the head unit, customizable through the i-Smart mobile app.
The MG Astor is the first SUV in India to integrate a personal AI assistant and 14 autonomous Level 2 features powered by mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera, enabling advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) features. With a total of 49 safety features, MG Motor India underscores its commitment to delivering cutting-edge automobile technology and meeting customer expectations.
